Ferric EDTA 12%

Ferric is mainly used for the agricultural purposes for the treatment of chlorosis and leaves in which chlorophyll is not sufficient. Iron is the third most limiting nutrient for the plant growth and metabolism. It is present in highest quantity in the soil. Green planet’s FERRIC EDTA 12% will give you the best results for your iron deficient plants. Plants are grown continuously with Ferric EDTA as an iron source. The ratio of green and yellow chloroplast pigments is constant under all the levels of iron nutrition. In plants, iron is involved in chlorophyll synthesis and it is essential for the maintenance of chloroplast structure and functions. In aerobic soils, iron is predominantly found in the Fe+3 form, mainly as a constituent of oxyhydroxide polymers with extremely low solubility.

Deficiency of Ferric/Iron  

• Chlorotic foliage.

• Bud or fruit drop.

• Interveinal chlorosis, the development of a yellow leaf with a network of dark green veins with a mottled yellow color in the plant tissues between the veins.

• As the plant cells die, the entire leaf turns yellow or white, and the outer edges may scorch and turn brown.

• Foliage may also acquire brown leaf margins.

• Mostly, symptoms do not progress more than just discoloration of the foliage.

Causes of Deficiency:

There are two possible causes:

1.The pH of the growth media is very high (above 6.2)..

2. The amount of iron applied is insufficient.
